Applicants can now select a particular form type and category. For instance, those using Form I-130 can check processing times for a lawful permanent resident sponsoring a spouse or child under 21 at a specific service center, such as the Texas Service Center. - Single-Number Wait Time:
Instead of showing a range (e.g., “7.5–11 months”), the updated tool now provides a single number representing the time it took to process 80% of cases over the past six months. - Receipt Date Calculator:
A new feature allows applicants to enter their receipt date to determine if their case is outside normal processing times. This helps applicants know if they should contact USCIS for updates.
Why These Changes Matter
USCIS made these updates as part of its ongoing efforts to improve transparency and efficiency in response to growing concerns about the massive immigration application backlog, which had reached 9.5 million applications as of February.
